KAKE, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, is looking for an aggressive, highly motivated and skilled Web Producer/Assignment Desk candidate to join our award-winning staff. We are seeking a journalist with great work ethic.
DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Must be able to perform duties on all digital platforms, from website publishing to all of KAKE's social media accounts
- Must have strong writing ability and outstanding organizational & communication skills
- We want people with winning attitudes and people who want the best in each and every article and post
- We are looking for a self-starter who can present a balanced news product
- Must be creative, open to ideas, and make our digital elements as strong as they can be
- Show the ability to generate story ideas and write original content
- Show ability to positively interact with the public through viewer phone calls
- Redirect reporter and/or photographers to breaking news coverage
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in journalism, mass communications or equivalent experience
- One year of newsroom experience is preferred
