KAKE’s Steckline AG report will be given by long-time farm broadcaster, Larry Steckline. Larry Steckline was born and raised on a farm near WaKeeney, KS, Steckline’s agricultural roots led him to become manager of Wichita Livestock Market Foundation in 1965. In 1967 he began his television broadcasting career as farm director with KTVH in Wichita, KS. 1968 is when he began broadcasting agricultural news on KFRM-AM and then spent the next 45 years on TV/radio, easily becoming the most recognized agricultural mid-west broadcaster.

He has received invitations from Presidents Carter, Reagan and Clinton to discuss agriculture issues at the White House and has traveled with U.S. Agriculture Secretaries John Block, Ed Madigan, Clayton Yeutter and Dan Glickman to China, India, Cuba, Japan, Russia and Italy. Steckline has received numerous awards from professional groups recognizing his contribution to agriculture and agri-business organizations.
